I have a friend visiting this week and with the nice weather on Wednesday we decided to pay a visit to the high line. It is an elevated linear park build on disused trail tracks located in the meatpacking district in Manhattan. What a great way to bring people back to a forgotten place.
The high line is a green oasis in a busy city, and it can at times feel a bit of a paradox having such a green area in the middle of the bustling city life.
As you keep on walking you find yourself surrounded with flowers and plants close by and with the city and the traffic all around.
Food stands along the line:
The park has also gathered quite a lot of artists, and they get great exposure.
I am so loving such initiatives to re-design and re-use spaces that have been left idle for some time. And God knows the city could use some more plants and trees.
Next up for New York: less cars, more bikes (I wish) ❤
