A Tribute to Nina Simone

Around 2 weeks ago I went to a tribute concert to celebrate the one and only Nina Simone. Several extremely talented artists were there singing a couple of her songs, each in their own way.

The venue only allowed for a certain number of people to enter, and we must have been 70 tops sitting around as the artists were playing. It was truly intimate and special.

12238365_954860437918734_9132087521170101006_o12248003_954860024585442_1173022270240696088_o-112291073_954860574585387_5591716239807990556_o

It was one of those nights, everything was just perfect and you just wanted to live in the moment.

I still cannot believe there was no cover charge either. You have to understand that everything in New York has a price tag. There is no such thing as a free lunch, there really isn´t. Also, Newyorkers love to queue up, they would queue up for free pizza, and this in a city where delicious slices of pizza are sold for 99 cent each. Needless to say, there will always be huge crowds when something exiting or special is about to take place. But not that night and we all felt privileged to be there to take part in that special moment.

Utrykket “There is no such thing as a free lunch” kunne ikke passet bedre her i det store eplet.
